TMC HOLIDAY PARTY RECAP
TMC’s Holiday Party & Showcase took place Sunday Dec., 18, 4-8 p.m., at member venue, Hangin’ Tree Saloon, thanks to owner Big John Oaks and Holiday Party Chair Elaine Eickenroht. As always, this event was free and open to the public.
The TMC line-up included: Donna Baxter, Victoria Celestine (Zaleski) – 2011 TMC Jack Skiles Music Studies Scholarship Winner, Tom Williams and Texas Groove, Eric Morris & Burning Nopal, “Red” and Lana Dvorak, and Katherine Dawn and the Texas Ladybugs. (Katherine and two of her Ladybugs were snapped by the S.A. Express-News at the event and appeared in the paper Dec. 30!)
Other highlights included a special visit from Santa Claus (aka Bob Laxson), with Dani Eickenroht as Santa’s gift prize-distributing elf. Santa kept us all entertained with his humor, trivia questions and dancing skills and we also had a memorable moment when he invited a serviceman recently returned from duty in Afghanistan to step up to the mic and be recognized.
Ice cold beer and food from the famous Hangin’ Tree Kitchen were added treats. For more info on the Hangin’ Tree Saloon, visit www.hangintree.com or call (210) 651-5812.
The Hangin’ Tree Saloon is located at 18424 2nd Street, Bracken, 2 miles north of Rolling Oaks Mall off FM 2252. From 1604: Drive north on 2252 (Nacogdoches Rd.) for 2 miles. Take the first right past the railroad tracks. Go four blocks and turn left. The Hangin’ Tree is the second building on the right. From FM3009: Drive south on 2252 for 2 miles. Turn left onto 2nd Street. Hangin’ Tree is on the left.
